This session the party continues its way in the deepest level of the dungeon they’ve found so far. They met Rolland’s latest character, a mighty warrior, one Aethelwulf Tanglemane. He’s lucky, he’s strong, and to say Int is his dump stat is perhaps unfair to the reputation of dump stats. But in DCC, your warrior is better off lucky than smart. Perhaps most importantly, he survived the night.
My notes are fairly scant, but a hydra fight did occur. There was some meandering around the dungeon before that, but the Hydra fight is really what mattered. Highlights included:
- Stacia getting more disapproval (talk about a weird toxic relationship).
- Nick hit his head with the halberd for spellburn, further setting the standard for all Halberd Wizards to live by.
- Nick also fired the killing shot with a Scorching Ray at the Hydra!
After killing the hydra (or before, who can say) Nick cast the spell he received from the Vorpal One: Locate Object. He rolled high and identified the location emanating from the onyx wall that appears to be part of a buried tower. While proceeding around the tower, the party encountered a larger, cavernous area with a large, 40′ long red dragon wrapped around cat-like across from them. And the last thing that happened was its eyes were beginning to open…
